Sales Director (Asia Pacific) urgently required for a pivotal role within a global, highly innovative, Smart Metering / Grid end-to-end solutions provider with offices in Singapore.
You must have an extensive network of energy utility (electricity) contacts and customers and will also have worked with a variety of partners and reseller (who sell services/products into energy utilities) in this region.
The Sales Director is an executive level position responsible for leading company sales efforts and activities throughout the Asia Pacific region in an emerging smart energy market. This position will have responsibility for expanding the entire smart grid portfolio of proven products into new markets. This position is responsible for achieving annual business performance targets including bookings, revenue and profit goals as determined collaboratively with the C level management and will serve as one of the senior executives for the company. We are looking for a seasoned professional who is committed to winning and leveraging their executive contacts.
You will report directly into the Managing Director, Asia Pacific, and you'll be responsible for sales in this region. As you build up the region you will also build up the sales and solution architecture team, so in the past, you must have had some team sales leadership experience.
Ideally you will have closed business with utilities in one or more of the following countries: Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan or Singapore. Any experience with Korea, India, Japan or Australasia would also be desirable.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate fluently in English and any other language skills would be beneficial but not essential. You will have a proven and solid track record of selling smart metering technology into energy utilities and grid operators in Asia Pac.
It's essential that you will have a good rolodex of contacts in the energy utility / electricity retail industry. You must also have a strong appreciation and understanding of the smart metering and smart grid technology market place.
Conceptual knowledge of:
- Metering, AMI, Demand Response and Distribution Automation
- LAN/WAN networked systems - RF mesh, PLC, cellular
- Security
Please also note you can come from one of the following background; worked for a software vendor or a systems integrator or even directly from an energy utility.
In this role you will be expected to sell directly to energy utilities, but as the region is so large you will also use, and develop, my client's channel partners. So in short you will sell directly, and also indirectly, to energy utility customers. In terms of using their partners you must be comfortable in being able to leverage the partner sales force to understand where the opportunities are. It will also be essential to map out who the main players are within the channel partners and utilities.
