Solution Architect urgently required for a pivotal role within a USA-based, global smart grid / metering company with offices in the Singapore.
The successful candidate will have solid experience in client-facing pre-sales engagement activity. You will have extensive experience in designing, and helping to sell, enterprise-grade software into end-user companies (ideally into energy utilities). It would also be highly desirable if you have some wireless knowledge e.g. WiMax or LTE.
Any knowledge of HAN, NAN, WAN or Head-End technologies would be highly desirable.
You may have worked for one of the following companies: Oracle, SAP, IBM, Itron, Elster, L+G, Cisco etc etc. Or a more niche player in this space.
In this role you will be part of a global SA team and occasionally you could be asked to travel to support international actrivieies, however, your focus will be on the Asia Pacific region. You will provide pre-sales technical support to the Asia Pacific VP Sales in selling smart grid and metering end-to-end solutions into the energy utilities in Asia-Pac. Some of your pre-sales work will extend into pilots / demos and some post-sales scenario engagements.
As a solution architect you will be able to create a multi-product solution using my client's entire product portfolio to create a true end-to-end smart grid/metering solution i.e. from the meter through the NAN/HAN to the grid and on to the head-end and then the billing / invoicing systems.
You will be highly experienced in being able to understand what the business requirements are and how they need to be addressed. You must be able to understand what the customer is asking for and then be able to come up with a solution which fits their requirements.
You must have, and be comfortable in providing, hands-on practical demo support capabilities to dig into the product and ad-hoc troubleshooting.
You will be able to demonstrate the "undocumented features" of a product and work with Beta versions of products / cutting edge technologies.
Some of your time will be spent in helping to support RFPs proposals i.e. answering questions based on bandwidth, security, capability of systems, how interface made available for other software systems etc. You will therefore previous experience in supporting this process.
