VP European Sales urgently required for a role within a global US-based smart grid technology house that is actively developing its international business in Europe.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced sales professional who will have a proven track record of selling into European Energy Utilities with an extensive list of contacts, specifically Germany. As this region is a big focus area; the successful candidate will need to be located in Germany and speak fluent German, although any other languages will beneficial.
Candidates with a technical background in communication technology such as RF, PLC, Wi-Fi, Wireless,
Wireline and Distribution Automation will certainly be of interest.
In this role you will develop business, and eventually sell solutions, into the German-speaking countries moving into heading up the DACH and BENELUX regions and building teams underneath you in these areas.
This role requires extensive travel in Northern Europe and also to the UK and USA.
You may have worked for a number of different organisations e.g. smart metering manufacturers, smart grid communication technology vendors, telecom operators (e.g. Vodafone, T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom), system integrators (IBM, Accenture etc) or Distribution Automation technology (e.g. Siemens, GE, ABB, Schneider).
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the pioneering smart grid technology players and play a crucial part in how they develop their international business in Europe. They are cash positive and are in a very strong financial position.
Initially this is a hands-on sales role where you are taking my client's products to market and drumming up new business opportunities. This could involve winning pilots, RFI / RFPs, building relationships and general business development. Your first year will be spent in opening up lines of enquiry and essentially building up the pipeline. Your bonus structure will therefore be based on achieving these initial tangible results.
