Metadigm Services Reinvesting in Metering Reprogramming

17 May 2012 - 6:11PM

Metadigm Services is once again investing in its popular meter reprogramming practice, previously known as Meter Lab Services. Matt Heath, Area Vice President at Metadigm’s testing and warehouse operations facility in Covington, Georgia explains, “Most of today’s early generation smart meters can be upgraded if you have the right systems in place. What we do in our meter reprogramming practice is technical, precise and critical. We are investing in making technical meter upgrades easier for our customers across the country.”

As such, Metadigm’s Covington plant is upgrading its infrastructure to take on large meter retrofit and upgrade projects in the coming months. The company reports, “Details include upgrading its meter recycling program, which handles 50,000 meters a month, and also upgrading over 60,000 square feet of racked warehouse space. In addition to the racks, warehouse and recycling program upgrades, the company is investing in new hardware and systems that streamline over-the air firmware updates, meter accuracy testing, and custom variable programming.”
Metadigm also plans to upgrade their Midwest and Southwest meter reprogramming facilities, which are similar to the Covington plant and support utilities across the country. Metadigm Services also plans to expand meter reprogramming services in the West and Canada in the near future.

Heath adds: “We are able to seamlessly morph our field operations with our own fleet, logistics, testing, and warehouse. The most popular meters Metadigm supports include GE, Sensus, Tantalus, and Landis+Gyr, although Heath comments that the Metadigm engineering warehouses are capable of working on any modern meter.”
